Oral fluid drug testing using Oral-Eze®

Onsite Mobile Diagnostics uses a FDA-cleared oral fluid collection system that simplifies the collection of oral fluid for routine workplace, or employer, drug testing.

The Oral-Eze Oral Fluid Collection System provides the benefit of our sample adequacy technology. The sample adequacy window takes the guesswork out of collecting oral fluid specimens and turns blue when the specimen quantity is sufficient for testing, thereby reducing repeat drug test collections.

Advantages of Oral-Eze:

  • Sample adequacy window. The patented collection device with built-in sample adequacy indicator window shows the collector that a sufficient quantity of oral fluid has been provided. This also decreases the likelihood of the sample being rejected as “quantity not sufficient” and thereby reducing the time and expense associated with a second collection.
  • Easy collection and fast turnaround.Specimen collection with the Oral-Eze collector typically takes about five minutes. Testing is performed the day it arrives at our laboratory, with negative screening results reported the same day. Positive results are confirmed, reviewed, and typically reported within 72 hours of receipt.
  • Tests for a variety of drugs. which include amphetamine, methamphetamines (including MDMA and its metabolite), opiates (codeine, morphine, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, 6-AM), cocaine (metabolite), marijuana (THC), and phencyclidine (PCP).
  • No unpleasant taste. The Oral-Eze Oral Fluid Collector does not have a salty or citric taste.

Why use oral fluid testing?

Oral fluid testing offers confidential lab-based drug test results from an easy-to-use oral fluid collection method.

By using oral fluid instead of urine, donors can collect and cap their own specimens on-site and in the presence of a monitor, reducing the likelihood of a donor challenge later on. The Oral-Eze collector is a minimally-invasive, easy-to-use method that can be used for pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and post-accident drug testing.

Onsite Mobile Diagnostics also performs specimen validity testing on every oral fluid specimen, giving you the added assurance that the specimen is appropriate for testing.

 Collection Process

1. Collect.
The donor inserts the Oral-Eze collection pad between the lower cheek and gum.

2. Check.
When the sample adequacy indicator window on the handle turns blue, the collector is removed.

3. Detach.
The collection pad is inserted into the transport tube and detached from the collector.

4. Cap.
The cap is pressed until completely sealed and a tamper-evident seal is placed across the top and down the sides of collection tube. Ship the specimen to the testing laboratory.
